Location Scouting Update

This just in! NYC is freezing cold!

That pretty much sums up my feelings of our location scouting expedition. I mean, yeah, we saw some interesting places that we can shoot in, yeah we got a better chance to visualize our grand image. But...I knew we would. What I didn't know is that it would be so cold that thermals, jeans, a blazer and an over coat. I guess you might not be interested in how cold I am, seeing as how this is supposed to be a production blog.

We saw four locations last night. We have two options on our jewelry store, I think an awesome pad for the Drug Dealer's apartment with a bedroom that can double as Peter's bedroom, a hallway that looks like the hotel, and Scott's place. Scott's place was very clean and neat...I guess we could mess it up and turn on his "ugly light" and use it for Julie's apartment. We'll see.

On the flip side, we have reached $445 on our Kickstarter page! This is excellent news, we reached and exceeded our halfway point before Christmas! I don't know why this excites me so, but it does. It really does.

Keep the support rolling in everyone. Thanks!

$5 Shy of Halfway Point and First Stranger Backer

The end of today brought us within five dollars of half our goal! It is very exciting. Up until tonight every donor has been a friend or a friend of the family. But not anymore, today The Prescription received backing from our very first stranger!! If I had confetti I would throw it, who knows, maybe I do and maybe I did...

Let's get this bad boy up to $450 by Christmas!! Whooo!

EDIT:

The mystery stranger backer turned out to be Fil's uncle! Not a mystery anymore. :)

This is just funny....

Fil acted in a short I needed to do for class. It is too funny.

You really just need to watch this to see Fil. Hilarious. Don't mind the cruddy camera work or infinitesimal production value. This was for kicks.

We got past $300!!!

Quick update everyone, our Kickstarter page just made it beyond the $300 mark! We are getting closer every single day thanks to all you generous folk out there on the internet. So that generosity coming, otherwise I will shave Fil's head. He looks ugly bald.

Awesome Day on Kickstarter, Terrible News for Fil

Our Kickstarter page is going strong everyone! Get in while the gettin' is good. We hit an extra $85 today by the afternoon, the day is still young.

On a somber note, I had to break it to my director that we need to cut some pages. We need to get the length down and under control if we want to get this into any festivals. I understand his pain...I do. It is never easy editing your baby down, especially when it requires full pages. Ugh poor Fil. :(

But, I am sure it would lighten his mood to know we are getting closer to our steadicam goal! So keep the support rolling in everyone!

Thanks!

Call Backs – Mission Impossible

Today was a pretty fun day for us PrePro crewmembers. We held our call backs today: twelve actors in four hours. That is three actors an hours, or one actor every twenty minutes, or half an actor every ten, a quarter every five…you get the picture. Heh, I just imagined what half an actor would look like. They were fantastic, all of them, seriously. They are all assholes, made our job of picking much harder, thanks a bunch guys! As soon as I get some waivers filled out by them all I will start posting all their pretty pictures up on this so you can get a look. So, what roles were we casting for today? Well, our lovable drug addict, Julie. Her super responsible older sis, Elizabeth. The spicy love interest, Chris. One badass mothafucker, the Dealer. Eccentric yet lovable addict sidekick, Peter. His girlfriend I guess, Ruby. Wait, that's it. Though there were more.

Scott opened Fil and my eyes to some tragic news, thirty pages is pushing it in length for film festivals. I tried talking Fil into cutting it down, he is not too happy….we will figure it out somehow, even if I have to butcher it myself! I pushed our Kickstarter page ( www.tinyurl.com/theprescriptionfilm ) on more of the unsuspecting FaceBook masses. My girlfriend made me the admin of the give $1 to our film page she made. I feel like the mayor of a small town.

Hmm, anything else….for dinner we had pizza…I smoked several cigarettes…oh! We are doing some preliminary location scouting on Wednesday, that'll be cold…er I mean fun!

That's all I can think of for right now. Thanks for reading. DONATE OR I WILL SLAP FIL!
